Rev. William E. (Ed) Groff is a graduate of Asbury College and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Ed’s father was a United Methodist minister and his mother’s father, both of her brothers, and two of her uncles were all Methodist pastors. Ed and his wife Mary were married in 1976. They have four adult children—David (Stacey), Nicole (John), Rachel (Jay), and Jonathan, and three grandchildren. Ed and Mary's ministry began in 1979 and they have served five United Methodist churches prior to coming to Cherry Grove UMC: Junction City Charge, Christiansburg/Grafton Charge, Portsmouth First/Cornerstone, St. Mary’s Wayne Street and Perrysburg First. Mary has done daycare in the home and was on the staff as Children’s Director at St. Mary’s. They enjoy fishing, music, sports, and a number of games.
